Colour Meanings

After looking at the specific meaning of many colours through colour charts and mood rings I then looked at images from vogue on the computer wich was using the idea of colour to express feelings. I was extremely inspired by many images and I decided that I wanted to explore this further and develop it by expressing my own emotions through colour.

A mood ring is a ring which contains a thermochromic element, such as liquid crystal. The ring changes color in response to the body temperature of its wearer. The color is said, by some proponents, to indicate the emotional state of the wearer.

The make-up here leaves viewers to possibly question 'is she the victim or is she the attacker?' This make-up converys violance and looks like blood. There is a mask like quality to the face due to the white base that is used. There is a contrast shown here with the skin tone of the hand against the white face. This adds drama to the look.
The purple used here has a sence of clarity and the model looks as if she is in controll of the situation and is certain of what she wants. By her holding onto the bar reinforces that she is in controll. The clown adds a playful touch to the image.

This image has a powerfull inpacked and I love the fact that her dark skin is matched with a dark chocolatey like liquid. To me this image is all about texture. the texture evokes water and a liquidy metal aswell as chocolate. The message of this image could possibly be to hide the face, to conceal. I like the reflective quality to the liquid as it does suggest a metal and a contrast between her skin.

The model here looks alert and has an animal like quality, she remindes me of a deer. The vivid colours brings her out of this world and as if she is transformed into an other worldly creature.
The model here looks tough with her mainly dark make-up. However other colours are being revealed on her forehead wich suggests other thoughts and other emotions coming through. I like the scratchy texture of the make-up under her left eye wich reflects her messy textured hair at the back.
This make-up here appears striking as her face is quite plain except from her eyes. The eye shadow is applyed like a banner wich remindes me of vikings.
Here she looks bird like with her vivid colours and messy hair. She looks uncertain and vulnerable. She looks like a little girl who has been crying and appears sad but also theres a sexyness as her mouth is slightly open and painted with a bright pink lipstick wich could also suggest niavity. This picture gives mixed messages and could be interpreted in many different ways.
She looks daring with her bright orange colours.

The model here remindes me of a peackock as her make-up is applied in a feathery way around her eyes. The colours reflect this for me also.
This photograph works realy well and it is conveying peace. the two models look as if they are doves with their pale make-up. Doves represent peace.

This deffinately portrays anger and agression. To me the red reflects her hot fiary temper.
