Synopsis
We
were all given the word ‘Cycle’ and I was inspired by this. I then explored the
meaning of this and I looked into many different types of cycles such as the
washing cycle, the menstrual cycle and daily routines as well as many others. I
decided that I wanted to explore the daily routine of applying and taking off
make-up. I then became inspired by different ways of recording this and I made
my own video clips. After making this I realised that I did not have my own equipment
or skill to produce a better version so I explored other ways of capturing my
ideas such as photography, drawings, an installation or a catwalk. I then
researched other make-up artists such as Yadim and other images from vogue and
I analyzed them and the meaning of the image and how it was making me feel by
looking at them. I became influenced by this and I searched the associated
meanings of different colours and the idea of a mood ring. After gathering all
this inspiration I decided that I wanted to explore and to create make-up that
would portray certain meanings that could be used on a catwalk. I have designed
these and I would love to show them if I ever got the chance to hire out a
catwalk stage and fashion models.
